Watchers

Submit science?

Wed Jan 21, 2009, 10:35 PM
I'm contemplating adding some of my wallpapers that I've created at work to DA. The only issue I see is the "art" is actual scientific data and I don't know how I would classify it on this site.

The data in question is a three-dimensional volume of turbulence that has been "colored" reveal different features like vortices and shock waves. These data sets can be carefully "colored" to produce some pretty cool images, some of which have been published in popular journals and magazines. I have had many discussions about whether or not these images could be considered art. I would like to share these images openly with the public to increase interest in science and perhaps inspire some to learn a little more about the world we live in.

If you stumble across this site, please take a look at my website and help me figure out if these images are suitable for DA. Thanks!
